Guided tour visitors can see the refectory – the former monastic dining room – where a copy of the Turin Shroud is exposed. It is a piece of cloth in which Jesus was wrapped after being removed from the cross and this copy is the only one to be found north of the Alps. Subsequently is a visit to the monastic library with its many unique prints, the mummiesof Vamberk, whose origins date back to the 17th and 18th centuries, and the sacristy. The last room visited on the tour is the richly decorated baroque church of St. Adalbert where the copy of the Turin Shroud was found in 1999.

Café Dientzenhofer offers all its visitors: tourists and locals alike the opportunity to enjoy for a while in a unique setting what was once a former monastic grammar school. Our staff offer delicious coffee from the coffee-roasting plants of Trutnov, where a special mixture was prepared especially for the monastery café. Consequently this coffee can only be sampled at Café Dientzenhofer. For dessert you can choose something sweet from the cake menu or delicious freshly fried pancakes in both sweet and savoury versions. There is a wide range of ice-creams for young and old alike. For adults we have the local Opat beer, a wide range of wines from the Benedictine wine cellars as well as other alcoholic beverages.

Within the area of the monastery the project Broumovsko je učebnice! (The Broumov region is a textbook) arose. This is a range of educational programmes for primary and secondary schools. The implementation of a significant part of this is supported by grants from the Hradec Králové region . On first glance the project may appear similar to other environmental programmes. However, in many aspects it is different. The programmes are conducted in the unique surroundings of the rock towns of Broumovsko, in a country of baroque monuments or directly at a National Cultural Monument – in Broumov Monastery. The team of lecturers includes people who have professional experience in the protection of monuments or in preserving nature, artistic production, industry, tourism, marketing and economics.
We have managed to assemble an offer where the humanities and a natural scientific education are combined together with the possibilities to release the creative potential of both participants and lecturers. The imperative that all lecturers try to incorporate within all programmes is a simultaneous charter for the two spiritual values of : freedom and responsibility. These are the variables, which when in opposition beingmany problems to the world and human society.
Broumov Monastery is located in a picturesque landscape full of sandstone rocks, about 20 km from Adršpach and Teplice nad Metují. It is recommended to combine a visit to the monastery with a tour of the rock towns and other beauties of the Broumov region.
